Greyt Love Retirement Shelter

The GLR shelter is located near Doswell, VA just outside of Richmond, VA and can house up to 18 greyhounds at one time.
James River Greyhounds Partnership
​GLR is proud to partner with James River Greyhounds (JRG) in an effort to find loving homes for retired racing greyhounds around the Central Virginia region.
​
Greyhounds being fostered at the GLR shelter are placed into loving homes through the JRG Adoption Process.

Want to help out at the shelter?

You can participate in dog hauls or at daily turnout times.
​
At dog hauls, you can help with new hound arrival baths, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and giving the hounds lots of love and attention.
​
At daily turnouts, you can help with walking the dogs, playing with the dogs, cleaning their crates, feeding the dogs, etc.
